Writing: Three Stages of Good Writing Practice

Draft

The drafting stage of writing is where you realize the organization in coherent, balanced paragraphs.

  • Follow your outline as a guideline for organization.
  • Focus on coherence.
    • Introduce transitions to make ideas flow smoothly and logically
  • Provide sufficient support for each point.
    • Ensure that the argument is well balanced as a whole.
  • Work quickly. Defer editing and proofreading until later.
